Minnesota State Fair/ Angry Birds Universe
Brand Strategy | Art Direction | Print Production

During my 2019 Summer Internship at the Minnesota State Fair, I had the privilege of being the lead designer for the exterior window graphic display for the Angry Birds Universe event. My roles included: conceptualization, creation, print production, and physical application.

The completed vinyl display stretched 150 ft in length, and covered all side doors, windows, and the entrance ways into the event. The display portrayed the Angry Birds characters enjoying iconic state fair events while advertising this unique and friendly event for families at the "Great Minnesota Get Together!"
Angry Birds Take Flight at the Fair
The design concept simulates an Angry Birds level design - Iconic locations and events at the State Fair were constructed using the Angry Birds brand assets, and then they were positioned to create a visual narrative of the Angry Birds flinging into the fair.
"Constructing" the Scene
The images below are close up details of how the Angry Birds brand assets, such as stone and glass blocks were "constructed" into the iconic symbols of the State Fair. The State of Minnesota and "The Giant Slide" were some my favorites that I designed.

Each vinyl block arrangement was printed on a sheet, then cut out individually and numbered. Then the blocks were reassembled and applied based on the numbering system. This required a lot of organization, time management, and planning both on and off the installation site.
